The Hangout Project

The Bisbee Senior Center has a large Arizona room that we plan to transform into a communal conversation area called “The Hangout” where members can relax, socialize, drink coffee, enjoy healthy snacks, watch contemporary streaming movies, play games, attend musical events, and retreat from the stress of today’s unpredictable world. We plan to refurbish this room and it’s adjoining patio with comfortable seating for up to 24 members. We’ll add a large screen multimedia center for presentations, video games, music, podcasts, and movies. A coffee and snack bar will feature a refrigerated beverage station, a new coffee and expresso maker, a commercial blender for making smoothies, a large capacity popcorn popper, a pretzel warmer, and a frozen yogurt machine.

In addition to providing more social interaction at the center, the Hangout is expected to generate at least $500.00 a month from sales of coffee and snacks and through donations for movies and musical events. This could add an extra $6,000.00 to our operating budget annually.

Help Us Fund This

The City of Bisbee has already begun refurbishing the room with new drywall, paint, and electrical wiring and has provided labor and installation for the project.
